Windows 8 To Include Webcam Application
It looks like Windows 8 will include a built-in webcam application. Check out the latest scoop after the break.
In the leaked Windows 8 build 7850 you can find various new programs and executables. One of the exe files hints at webcam application, it’s called WebCam.exe. The WebCam.exe also includes various images:
The exe description “Microsoft-Windows-WebcamExperience-WebcamExe” doesn’t reveal a lot about the actual application, but it very much looks like Windows 8 will have a webcam app that will use the Metro UI and will be fully compatible with the upcoming Windows 8 phones .
The round buttons don’t look like a typical Windows application, however I could imagine that webcam app is specifically designed to work on mobile and desktop devices as well.
Windows 8 To Work With Kinect
Microsoft will soon release a Kinect SDK for Windows 7, so we can expect that Windows 8 will be fully compatible with the top-selling Microsoft gadget.
With this fact in mind, a webcam app only makes sense. If Windows 8 will work well with a Kinect, then a cool webcam app is a mandatory. Looks like we are all going to have a Kinect in one year.. maybe a good reason to buy one now. The Kinect price is also going down lately.
