With the number of global communications platforms in the world, finding one that works the best in your country changes. But, we are starting to see WeChat take its place on the Windows 10 Windows Store, and this makes WeChat become better than ever.
While many US and European users probably aren’t aware of WeChat, the China based platform from Tencent has its place set. It has 1.1 billion accounts, with 762 million users, and many of those could start using the Windows 10 app.
What We Know About The App
The WeChat app has been in development for some time, but getting a release date on its final release is still tricky. It’s got a placeholder on the Windows 10 Store, and has a QR code available for those risky to try it.
The app though is starting to crash on some users, and that might be a tale of it not quite being ready. The app though sports a familiar WeChat look, and it has many basic features, and support for advanced features as well.
What we are seeing about this social app, is that it works on Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile devices, so it will be a Universal Windows App off the bat. It ranges from 10.58 to 11.85 MB in size, and works on x86 and x64 processors.
It is asking for access to your microphone, webcam, internet connection, picture and videos, and those mean it will support chat and video. It supports English and Chinese out of the gate, and promises an exciting app that should arrive soon.
The WeChat app for Windows 10 looks almost ready for release. It’s placemarker on the Windows Store is promising, but a final release means its ready for all WeChat users.
