The VLC Media Player is a free app available to download from the Windows Store, and its a must download for playing back audio, video, and other media files. With its updates, you get a better experience.
In the bugfixes made to the VLC Media Player, it fixes a crash when browsing password protected network drives, fixes mixed up channels when playing 5.1/7.1, fixes too long media discovery, and fixes wrong external drive connections.
Additionally, bugfixes include fixing hardware acceleration bugs, crashes when displaying teltext subtles, fixes inconsistent background audio behavior, and finally the duplicated display of network drives.
But, the Windows 10 app got a bunch of updates too. It now has a fast seek option with gamepad triggers, and B will now close the playback overlaw when its displayed. Also, they have fixed the default control panel button focus.
