Warren Spector reveals details

Epic Mickey 2 is coming out this year and the brains behind the series – Warren Spector – revealed details last week on a variety of features in the sequel and the improvements to be expected.

The first major detail was that Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two will include voice actors, and will be a musical. This is a major change from the original Epic Mickey as there were no voice. The narrative will be taken along with with musical periods in CG cutscenes.

Other details were that Oswald the Rabbit will now be a playable character in the game. Along with that, the sequel will feature a new co-op mode with include drop-in and drop-out support (which is no doubt possible due to the title coming to the Xbox 360 and PS3). The characters differ as Mickey has his paintbrush and thinner, while Oswald has a remote control that can control electricity. Undoubtedly the two have to work together, though there was no word on whether there will be exclusive areas that can only be accessed in co-op.

It was also revealed that players will once again have to make choice throughout the game that influence the direction. Spector also said the music change depending on the decisions made.

The much-maligned camera was also confirmed to be improved, removing issues such as the camera locking into place.
