The Windows Phone platform is a everchanging platform and ecosystem, and as developers update the apps, Windows Phone keeps on getting better. On Tuesday, Spotfy and Cortana were updated for Windows Phone, and now Windows Phone 8 and Windows Phone 8.1 look a lot better.
Spotify has been one of those apps on Windows Phone that has looked nice, but never had the appeal like it had on other clients. But, now the updates make it shine. With the latest Cortana updates to Windows 8.1, it means the functionality of the phone gets better for users.
Spotify Shines With Windows Phone Update
The newly updated Spotify app looks absolutely amazing on the Windows Phone 8 system, and the new bold looks give it an amazing shine. Users will almost immediately notice the improvements, as Spotify and Windows developers worked together to give Spotify users a great experience on Windows Phone.
The app now has a sleek, black background, rounded iconography, and updated typography, which makes it easier to read. A new “your music” feature appears, and allows users to bookmark their music they listened to. The browser feature was updated, plus the radio stations within the app were redone with shine.
Twitter Gets Cortana Update For Windows Phone 8.1
Cortana for Windows Phone 8.1 has been a great feature, but its integration with other apps has been somewhat limited. On Tuesday, Twitter and Microsoft announced updates to the Twitter App for Windows Phone 8.1, and now allow users to tweet with their voice. A simple “Cortana, Twitter New Tweet” starts it off.
While this update might sound comical to some, the ability to tweet just using your voice makes Cortana even more helpful. Users won’t have to hunt and peck on their phone keyboards anymore, and can do it with their voice. This update also allows sharing of websites via IE on Windows Phones.
These updates are fabulous for Windows Phone users. They are visually appealing and Cortana brings excellence to Twitter’s app.
