As the Build conference rolls on in San Francisco, Microsoft continues to roll out updates on its programs. One of the main ones announced, was the update for Skype. Skype will have brand new features and things to use with Windows Phone 8.1, and also with the latest Windows 8.1.

The updates to Skype cover both the mobile and desktop experiences, and Microsoft is certain to make these changes known to many. As posted on the Skype Blog, the changes are very impressive and will show off the power of Skype in all new and exciting ways.

The biggest update for Windows Phone 8.1 is the inclusion of Cortana with Skype. Skype will be tightly integrated with the Cortana personal experience of Windows Phone 8.1, and will give Windows Phone 8.1 users a ton of new features. The updates will be coming in the next few months according to Microsoft.

Users will experience a updated Live Tile to see notifications, a people hub for video calls, video instant messaging, HD 720p video calling, a new updated user interface with Skype navigation controls, video calling, instant messaging, and audio calling. All of these updates will give Windows Phone 8.1 a huge impressive experience for Skype.

Skype for Windows 8.1 is going to be redone with a focus on the touch interface. The new Skype app will be able to be pinned to the taskbar and accessible on the start screen or on the desktop. Skype wanted to give users a new way to experience it on Windows 8.1, and along with bug fixes will give users a brand new look and feel. It will be included with the Windows 8.1 update that should come next week, and Skype continues to get feedback from users on improvements to the app. Skype continues to be updated, and Skype on Windows 8.1 will be a new thing to enjoy.
