New Drawing Tool

One of the biggest updates on this Skype update is the inclusion of the drawing tool. It is a first for Skype, and allows users to draw on the screen using the “+” icon and allowing users to draw on top of photos and annotate maps. This can be useful for fun get togethers and family gatherings.

The new drawing tool is available for the Windows Phone version of Skype only for now. It has been discussed for Android and iOS platforms, but Microsoft has let this be available for Windows Phone 8.0 and Windows Phone 8.1 for now.

HD Screen Support And Faster Resume

The second big improvement for Skype on Windows Phones, is the inclusion of HD screen support. With phones that feature a high resolution screen, Skype will show up sharper and clearer than ever before. This type of visual update is perfect for those who love Skype, and who have taken advantage of the newer phones that show off HD.

Additionally, Microsoft also resumes faster on Windows 8.1. Various bugs have been fixed in the newest Skype to make this happen. Lastly, on Windows Phone 8.1, users can automatically sign in using the Microsoft Account on their Windows Phone. This will help sign in quicker to Skype, and make the experience more efficient. All of these bug fixes have made Skype for Windows Phone a much better program, and gives Windows Phone users reasons to use Skype and to love it.

Skype needed these changes and got them. It hasn’t been updated for a while, and now Windows Phone has a great version of Skype from Microsoft.
