Skype For Business Gets Major Updates For Enterprise
The Skype For Business product has converted a lot of businesses from their Lync platform to the Skype one. On Monday, Microsoft gave enterprise and business users a host of new features, that should convert them quicker.
The Skype For Business product is a set of enterprise and business tools to manage communications. The additions on Monday, give businesses PSTN Conferencing, Skyhpe Meeting Broadcasts, Cloud PBX, and PSTN calling.
PSTN Conferencing & Skype Meeting Broadcast
With the addition of PSTN Conferencing, this gives businesses the options to allow users to dial into a meeting from a traditional phone. They can still join in via their PC or mobile device, but a phone makes it easier.
For businesses that host larger online attendees, the Skype Meeting Broadcast will be important. It allows up to 10,000 meeting attendees, and lets users join in from any browser or device, which is just awesome.
Cloud PBX and PSTN Calling
Now, companies will be able to eliminate separate PBX systems in their companies, and utilize the cloud with Office 365. The combination of the Cloud PBX and Skype For Business can lower costs and give businesses more options.
Lastly, PSTN Calling gives Office 365 customers ways to subscribe to Microsoft managed calling plans and phone numbers. It will be starting in the United States at first, and then gradually roll out to the rest of the world.
These new features are available now for businesses. It’s worth checking out if you are a enterprise IT leader or someone interested in Skype For Business.
