SharePoint Launches Mobile App For Windows 10

One of the biggest requests from the enterprise and corporate world, has been for Microsoft to make a version of SharePoint that would work on its Windows 10 Mobile Devices. Since SharePoint is one of the biggest enterprise tools, it would make sense for Microsoft to make one. Now, Microsoft has finally released its Windows 10 Mobile version of SharePoint.

The Windows 10 Mobile version of SharePoint almost gives users the full version of SharePoint at their fingertips, and gives enterprise and corporate tools a perfect mobile app. While it does lack all the features that the full version has, it certainly gives them a nice companion app for their needs. Plus, it’s free to try and download, and evaluate whether it’s for them.

SharePoint Arrives On Windows 10 Mobile

SharePoint Mobile Features

You can initially navigate from links and sites, and that will let almost any SharePoint user visit the internal sites that are hosted within the SharePoint service on their sites. Additionally, the SharePoint mobile app lets you visit the activity view, and this will show users the file activities on their SharePoint hosted site, and this helps to monitor which files are viewed, downloaded, and more.

The navigation tools for the SharePoint app though are something that must be fully highlighted in the review though. Many times, links are posted internally on a corporate site, and this means that they usually cannot be viewed outside the organization. By keeping them viewable on the mobile SharePoint app, now users can get to them from anywhere they want.

Mobile Users Get SharePoint App On Windows 10

Fully OneDrive Capable

One major feature that any Microsoft junkie will love about the OneDrive app, is its full integration with the mobile Office products for Windows devices. This means that users will be able to open up Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other files that are contained in the SharePoint service. Users won’t have to use any other additional services to open these files, and that’s a huge plus.

Lastly, you can learn about the people you work with using the app, and their activities. This feature is still being baked into the SharePoint mobile app, but it’s proving a positive in the future, based on initial reviews. By using the enterprise search tools built within the SharePoint app, users can find people, places, documents, and anything else they want with the mobile app.

If you are an enterprise or business user, try out SharePoint today on Windows 10 Mobile. It’s a great tool, and a much needed tool that has finally arrived on Windows 10 Mobile.
