PS4 Vs Xbox One: Why The Xbox One Is The Smart Choice
We compared the PS4 and the XBOX One and in the long run the Xbox is the better choice. Find out why
The Xbox might have an “always on” requirement, but unless you’re a Planetside 2 addict and you also want a home entertainment console, the Xbox One may be the better choice even if it is $100 more expensive. Keep in mind you get a built-in Kinect and the Xbox has better hardware specs.
On top of all that it supports the iPad and Android devices via SmartGlass. This app might be the key for a lot of people because it’s obvious that our cell phones play an increasingly important role in our daily lives.

Sony: 81.44%
Microsoft: 12.38%
Nintendo: 6.18%
Kyle, that poll is fine, but let it run in 1 year and things will look completely differently. Smart money buys the Xbox and stays away from PS4. It’s a waste of money unless you’re planning to buy both consoles anyway. Xbox is the far superior media system and Sony does not have the finances to support the console in the way MSFT does. Microsoft can afford to lose money on its console (trust me, even at this price their margin will be really low)
I also wouldn’t be surprised to see a few policy changes eventually e.g. a region lock is easy to remove via firmware upgrade for example
Yes, they may have lost the E3 polls, but in a few year it won’t matter. History will repeat itself
The only advantages for the PS4 aside from the “Better MMO’s” are just features that the Xbox One doesn’t have. Did you even research the PS4 before writing this article? Using words such as ‘better franchises’, ‘better design’, and ‘best entertainment console’ show that your opinion on the Xbox One is obviously bias. And it’s never been the most advanced gaming console that has come out on top, so saying that history will repeat itself seems naive if your boasting so much about the ‘betterness’ of the Xbox One.
Nick, you have valid points and yes it’s very biased but that was exactly my point and my intention. I know the companies behind the products very well.
Sony is poorly managed while Microsoft has better teams with better quality assurance and a lot higher budgets. Sony once was once Asia’s top brand, now I would think twice before investing into Sony products. Microsoft is really slow with adoption, but Sony is even slower and completely missed most tech trends of recent years and now are struggling. This E3 proves they are in a desperate situation
Right now everyone is boasting that the PS4 is so great, while in reality Sony simply used Microsoft’s policies against them to make them look bad. In 1 year things will look differently. Both companies will lose money on the consoles, but Sony can’t afford it, so they will soon be underwater and can’t invest as much as MSFT does. Sony does not have an Excel or Windows that constantly brings in cash. Sure, they have their James Bond license and a good 4k TV lineup – but the TV competition is tough and they will not make much money there either.
My conclusion is that Sony will not be able to support their console as well as Microsoft can.
On top of all that, Sony has a lot of work to do, e.g. they need to work on better TV content integration, better voice recognition, better cloud support.
Microsoft will be able to provide more reliable voice control and with SkyDrive and Skype they have two very strong arguments to buy a Xbox 1 instead of a PS4
I for sure wouldn’t want to miss Skype or all of the previously purchased TV and movie content
