As the post on the Xbox Live Wire noted on Wednesday, America’s most beloved destinations will be available immediately for users on their Xbox 360 users. By luring PBS over to the Xbox 360 ecosystem, Microsoft has gained another large partner for content for the Xbox Live Gold service.
Huge PBS Hits Included
The inclusion of PBS on the Xbox 360 includes full length episodes of some of the biggest PBS hits. These include “American Experience,” “Austin City Limits,” “Frontline,” “Masterpiece,” “Nova” and “Secrets of the Dead,” among others. The PBS archives will also be available for users, and also include original PBS programming.
The large scale of the PBS library for Xbox 360 users is great news for Xbox 360 users, and should give them all new ways to enjoy PBS programming. Personalized PBS experiences will also be available with the ability to identify their local PBS station, so an LA user will get LA content and so on.
Fox News Also Included on Xbox 360
At the end of the Xbox Wire post on Wednesday, Microsoft also noted that they have also recently launched Fox News on the Xbox 360, which gives Xbox Live Gold users the ability to watch that content on their units as well. Breaking stories, clips, remote free experiences, and more are available for Fox News fans on the Xbox 360.
This addition of Fox News to the Xbox 360 and Xbox Live Gold is great for users, and shows that Microsoft is clearly going for content on their system for users. As the Xbox One approaches, the important of content is huge for Microsoft, and it is surely showing in the lineup of programming being brought to the Xbox Live Gold system.
