Paragon Feature in Diablo 3 Brings 100 Additional Levels

If you’re worried about maxing out to level 60 before completing all the difficulties in Blizzard’s Diablo 3, don’t be: you’re getting 100 levels to get through.

Blizzard aims at the lack of end-game content by creating a huge amount of levels with no in-game content

We’ve spoken on Diablo 3’s issues, in and outside of the game, though we have to give Blizzard credit for iterating quickly. That’s what it has done in the the latest update to the dungeon crawler, bringing 100 levels for players to grind through.

End-game content is important because there’s value for players after completing the Player vs Environment (PvE) content — it’s why Raids in World of Warcraft are popular — and it has been an issue with Diablo 3. So it’s interesting Blizzard didn’t introduce new content first, and then the Paragon levels.

Basically players earn experience after reaching level 60, though we don’t know if there’s retroactive experience granted, and the 100 levels improve four stats as you progress through the levels: Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, and Vitality. In short, after reaching level 60, experience earned counts towards Paragon levels. Magic Find and Gold Find also increase by 3 percent.

The percentage increase for Magic Find and Gold Find is capped at 300 percent, achieved without modifying equipment when level 100 is reached. Blizzard said in the blog psot announcing the update players will have the freedom to focus on slots to improve stats to increases kill times and life duration.

You’ll also get a border around your character’s face, sort of like a ranking system in a first-person shooter. Only Paragon looks awesome.

Blizzard also said Nepgale Valor will grant a 15% experience bonus per stack, working towards Paragon levels. It was also revealed that level 1 of Paragon takes about the same time as moving from level 59 to 60, with the experience requirement rising. If characters could get to level 99, then that would would be how long it takes to reach the highest Paragon levels. You should have plenty to keep you occupied then.

Diablo 3 is available now.
