Microsoft announced Office updates for the iPad Pro, iOS 9, and WatchOS 2. All of these pieces of Apple hardware utilize Microsoft’s Office software via apps, and Microsoft is getting ahead of the curve by announcing their updates for the forthcoming hardware.
Major Updates Announced
First, Microsoft announced that users will be able to quickly use a second app via the slide over command with Office. Users can be reading email, and then jotting a note in OneNote on the side of the screen. This is possible with the iOS 9 updates coming soon.
Users will be able to use two apps at the same time, and this means with Split View, Word and Excel and be run at once. Outlook can also be run side-by-side with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and that should please many professionals and those who use Office often.
Inking and Apple Watch Updates
Office Apps will also be able to take advantage of inking when users use with iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil. Similar functions are available on the Surface Pro 3, and they now become available on the iPad Pro via markup tools and more.
Other updates include intelligent search across devices, wireless keyboard support, and enhancements to Microsoft Outlook and Translator on the Apple Watch. Meeting notes and translations will now appear on the Apple Watch when triggered by the applications.
The new updates will soon arrive when Apple ships their devices. The updates are impressive, and should keep Apple users very happy.
