New Windows 10 Build Includes More Phone Support

Each Windows 10 build via their Windows Insider Program gives users new functions to test and try out at their discretion. But as of late, some Windows Phone users have been left out due to its limited Windows Phone support. On Friday, Microsoft updated the latest release with more Windows Phones now able to try it out.

The newest Windows 10 Build is labeled build 10051. and is the latest to the Windows 10 Technical Preview for Phones for the fast ring. The fast ring now gives users with Windows Phones the ability to try Windows 10 out, and includes Porject Spartan along with new apps as well.

More Windows Phone Support

The biggest thing that Windows Phone users will see is the addition for more Windows Phones to try out Windows 10. It included only a small list of phones when the first version was released, but now Microsoft has included over 30 different models to choose from. They included virtually all Lumia models of Windows Phones.

But, with the huge list of included Windows Phones, Microsoft stated the the Lumia Icon wasn’t able to be included in the updates. These include the 930, Icon, and the 640XL. Microsoft wasn’t able to make the screen scaling work, and new code has to be added. Promises were made to give those users access soon.

Other Windows 10 Improvements

With the latest build, Microsoft fixed Windows 10 in a number of ways and added support for more apps. This is the first build to include Project Spartan, and works along side IE11 for now. Additionally, new mail and calendar apps are introduced. They are the new universal apps for Windows 10 with the fresh UI.

New poeple, maps, and app switcher apps have also been introduced with this build. Users should be able to see new visual designs, and universal apps with these apps being introduced to users. Keyboard layouts, Cortana icon resolution, Microsoft Band syncing, and photos apps updates were also updated with this build.

This new Windows 10 Build should please many Windows Phone fanss. It’s live to download, so try it out and see if you like Windows 10.
