New Internet Explorer 11 Arrives For Windows 8.1

Internet Explorer from Microsoft is the browser on the Windows Phone ecosystem, and with Windows 8.1, Internet Explorer arrives with version 11. On Wednesday, Microsoft highlighted the changes made to Internet Explorer 11, and showed off screen shots of it as well.

There are a ton of new features for Windows Phone users with Internet Explorer 11, and it will make surfing the web on these new devices a lot easier and more secure. Some changes might be minimal to some, but the overall experience has been vastly improved with IE 11.

Quick Site Access And Unlimited Tabs

Internet Explorer 11 for Windows Phone 8.1 will have a frequent sites and URL predictions area for sites visited often. The browser will have a few sites that are visited frequently, and will be a quick tap away in the address bar. They will update as they are visited more often by the user. A predicted address will also appear without having to type the entire URL too.

Users who use a lot of tabs will also be pleased with the newest version of Internet Explorer for Windows Phone. Now, unlimited tabs will be available, and tab button and fresh button are both accessible anytime. Internet Explorer 11 will also sync browser data across all Windows devices, including favorites, passwords, and open tabs.

Now, on Windows Phone 8.1 with IE 11, users can pin their favorite websites to the home screen, with makes visiting these sites easier and quicker. Developers also speeded up the experience with in-line video playback, a reading view, remembering passwords, saving downloaded files, and much more.

Videos will be able to enjoyed under the lock screen for Youtube viewers, a huge addition for many. A reading bar will remove the clutter of a page and stitch them all together for easier reading. Passwords will be saved across devices, swiping back and forward will be enabled, and downloaded files can be saved from the web. All of these features plus an InPrivate mode for safety, DataSense for data savings, and other features will be built into IE 11 for Windows Phone 8.1.

This is great for Windows Phone 8.1. It gives IE a ton of new features and will make users much happier.
