More Lego Games On The Way

The Lego series of games has been a hit and the demand is still high according to Warner.

Lego Titles are showing “absolutely no fatigue at all”

The popular games which normally relive epic storylines like Star Wars, Indiana Jones or Harry Potter in a creative, funny and unique Lego Style shows no signs of slowing down.

However, with so many released now is there a danger of overdoing it? Even the critically praised Lord of The Rings adaption was noted as being a little to familiar?

Not according to senior vice president of international games Oliver Wolff. Wolff believes there is a high demand and told us to expect more titles in the future.

“What has been interesting is that we were always concerned about is there a ceiling to that? And the reality is that there’s absolutely no fatigue at all and there is actually a demand for different experiences.”

Future Lego Games To Feature More IPs

There is clearly only so many storylines that can be churned through the Lego format however and with most of the triple A ones already “Legofied” it looks like we can expect more original stories and titles.

A number of Lego titles are currently in developments such as Lego Marvel Super Heroes, Lego Legends of Chima Online and even a new MMO title.

“We are not dependent on it,” Wolff said when asked what percentage of games revenue is derived from Lego products. “It’s one strong leg of the IPs that we have. It’s really a steady base or a steady foundation for everything that we have, but we’ve got Batman, we’ve got Mortal Kombat, we’ve got all the DC expressions in different ways, on console but also online and in the mobile space. We’ve got the Lord of the Rings, which is huge, we have the chance of having lots of different legs that can play together in a way that we can phase them in and out.” states Wolff.
