Microsoft have announced an all new online service called Xbox Fitness that will feature popular trainers and programs such as P90X and Insanity.
Xbox Fitness To Feature Extensive Library Of Interactive Workouts
It is now becoming clear that the Xbox One will feature a host of non-gaming features but the announcement of a new fitness service from Microsoft may have come as a surprise for a many.
With the recent success of EAs and Nintendo fitness software and devices however it actually may be a wise move by Microsoft and with their belief in Kinect 2.0 capabilities it seems more and more a natural progression.
Their new Xbox Fitness service will feature popular trainers such as Jillian Michaels and Tracy Anderson along with numerous popular workout programs including P90X and Insanity .
Xbox Fitness To Use Advanced Kinect Features
The new service itself will have some unique features that will make full use of the advanced capabilities powering Xbox One and its Kinect system.
The service will feature muscle mapping which will show users what muscles are most engaged by power, force and transfer of weight.
Pulse will detect micro fluctuation under your skin to read heart rate from up to 10 feet away and an energy meter will show how much effort one is putting in while encouraging you to keep the intensity up.
Xbox Fitness Pass To Be Included With Gold Initially
Every Gold subscriber will initially get an Xbox Fitness Pass included in there subscription for the first year. This will effectively be a one year trial as Microsoft try to gauge the popularity of the new service.
Pricing after the induction period has not been announced or released yet. The new service will likely reduce the releases or the actual need for any fitness titles with developers and trainers likely to use the platform instead.
