Microsoft Planning on Bringing Gears Of War to Xbox One

Fans of the shooter series Gears of War will be delighted to hear that Microsoft are hoping the saga will be making an appearance on the Xbox One.

Epic Games Remain In Control

Gears of War was in many peoples opinion the first blockbuster title release on the Xbox 360 and was a real system seller at the time.

It is no surprise then that Microsoft are hoping the series will be returning bigger and better than ever before for the Xbox One but concede that the decision remains solely in the hands of Epic Games.

Epic Games are the developer behind the Gears of War Series and have yet to announce any projects for the Xbox One.

Microsoft Hope To See Gears of War On Xbox One

Microsoft Game Studios VP Phil Spencer has recently been stating his support for the idea.

“Gears of War is developed by Epic Games, and they’ve been our partners for a long time on Xbox 360. You should ask Epic Games about what they want to do,he told Famitsu. ”We haven’t announced anything yet about Gears of War, but we hope to bring it to Xbox One in some form. However, there’s nothing more I can tell you at this time.”

Epic Games Studio Going Through Changes

One factor that may put any release in doubt is that several key figureheads behind the original Gears of War studio are no longer around. Epic Games design director Cliff Bleszinkski and senior producer Chriss Wynn both recently left to join Bioware.

They are to be part of the team behind Mass Effect 4 .

Gears of War director Rod Fergusson also left the studio last year and several developers behind Gear of War: Judgment also left the company.

However the brand value behind a saga like Gears of War means we are likely to see a new addition in some shape or form in the not too distant future
