2014 among being a great year for gaming, was a great year for Windows gaming. It reinroduced gaming for the Windows platform to many, and got Windows Phone gamers going as well. In highlighting the best games of 2014, Microsoft is showing off its recommended best for all toe enjoy anytime.

One of the biggest games that took Windows gaming front and center in 2014 was Candy Crush Saga. Whether you love or hate the game, its addictive and habit forming, and has had a ton of downloads for Windows Phone. From great graphics, fun gameplay, and amazing entertainment, it was a main game of 2014.

Minecraft: Pocket Edition is also high up on the list for 2014 games, especially on Windows PHone. Minecraft took the world by storm in 2014, and having it in your pocket means users could play it at anytime. Life360 Family Locator was also mentioned as it provides easy access to finding out where family members are anytime.

All of these games feature high resolution gameplay anytime for Windows gamers.

Microsoft also noted other apps and games for those looking for other types of gameplay and app fun. It listed Asphalt 8 Airborne, 2020: My Country, FIFA 15, Farmville 2: Country Escape, Uber, Flipboard, Afterlight, and Duolingo as apps and games to enjoy. Duolingo on its own is noteworthy as a great way to master languages.
