Latest Build Of Windows 10 10166 Released
As we have noted in previous posts, Windows 10 is around the corner, and that means that Microsoft is gearing up for a big end of July. On Friday, Microsoft updated its latest version of Windows 10 via its Windows Insider Program, and released version Build 10166 to the beta testers.
Build 10166 is the latest verion available to Insiders via the fast ring. It’s the latest version, and is updated from the previous 3 in the prior week. It’s all about bug fixing and finishing up details for Microsoft, and gives users some last features that they can experiment with today.
Inside Build 10166
One of the biggest things that Microsoft has included in the latest build, is the ability to purchase Wi-Fi in the Seattle area. This is available in the “Buy Wi-Fi from Windows Store” feature, and allows for users to purchase Wi-Fi within the Windows operating system in a trial basis.
This main feature is only available in the Seattle area according to Microsoft, and is going to be rolling out the the rest of the US in due time. This could make Microsoft a big Wi-Fi player in the rest of 2016, and helps them get users mobile during their times away from their homes and offices.
Windows SDK Release & Details
In his blog post, Gabe Aul stated that the corresponding Windows 10 SDK preview release was also available with this build. The Building Apps for Windows blog has a ton of additional details, and the latest SDK and mobile emulator is available for Windows developers on the WIndows 10 Developers Tools page.
Microsoft is quickly encouraging Windows 10 Insiders to upgrade to the latest build. Microsoft is making the 10166 build available and build 10162 available via ISO’s. Microsoft is still encouraging users to give them feedback on Windows 10, and is coming up on a final release for retailers in the next week.
