Indie – Skara The Blade Remains: First Ever MOV

Skara The Blade Remains is one of the first game fully focused on arena fights and could become one of the best eSports games of the next year!

About Skara

Skara is setting out to become the first versus fighting game focusing solely on arena fights. Up to 16 players can compete in arenas at the same time. Players who have proven themselves to be worthy, can create their own faction and claim arenas (territories).

5 races, each with a unique fighting style can compete in different modes including TDM (Team Deathmatch), Siege, CTF (Capture the flag), Kill the King, Dominion or free-for-all.

Alpha – Early Access Game

The game will become available for everyone Steam as an Early Access game soon (this month from what I’ve heard).

Overall, for an alpha this game really looks awesome. Yea, admittedly, they have a lot of work to do on the animations. The fights are somewhat slow, which allows for tactical gameplay where skills matters more than having uber equipment or levels (which is a big plus). The animations may look a little unnatural, but I am sure they will work on this throughout the next months until the game will be released later this year.

Cinematic Trailer

Very cool CGI trailer:

If you want to see actual gameplay – as mentioned, still early in development:

How Can I Support This Game?

Head over to to get early access to the alpha and support the development.

The Kickstarter campaign ended already, so it looks like there is no other way to get the goodies. Possible that they will print more of the books and artbooks for release, but the limited goodies were most likely reserved for early backers. Still a possibility that they will do another Kickstarter campaign due to the limited exposure the game had (many RPG fans were barely aware of it)
