Comic Con 2012 Logo.gif Comic-Con will be getting a Halo 4 appearance, Microsoft has announced, along with other games such as Resident Evil 6 and Assassin’s Creed 3.

Beginning July 12 for most of the public, Comic-Con will opens it doors and many of 2012’s big releases will be there

If there’s one silver lining to the E3 cloud, it’s that the biggest event in the gaming industry isn’t the only time to see the year’s – and following year’s – releases. Comic-Con is one such event to offer 2012’s big hitters, and Microsoft’s Major Nelson has announced one of those games will be Halo 4.

In a post on the official Major Nelson blog, it was revealed there will be a preview shows Wednesday, June 11 from 5:30PM until 9PM. Doors fully open the following day – June 12 – from 9AM until 7PM and follow that schedule until Saturday, July 14, so plenty of time to shoot some Covenant (or, erm, those new enemies called Prometheans or something). The final day is Sunday, July 15 with doors opening at 9AM but closing at an earlier time of 5PM.

Nelson said prizes will be available – probably Halo 4-themed swag – from the Halo 4 developers and team behind the live action Forward Unto Dawn mini-film. Those signing events will be available over at Halo Waypoint.

Other games will be available at the Xbox Lounge at the Hard Rock Hotel including Forza Horizon, Assassin’s Creed 3, Resident Evil 6 and Hitman Absolution. For a full list of titles check out the source link, below.

Games, Games, Games … And Panels

There’s also an event called Xbox 360 at NERD HQ, which has more games including the Tomb Raider reboot and a new map from Gears of War: Judgement (so they’re still showing off multiplayer).

A few panels are happening throughout the event: on Thursday, July 12 there’s a Fiction of Halo 4 panel. It includes Greg Bear who wrote the latest Halo 4 novel and is generally a great writer, and talks more generally about how the different modes of Halo 4 are narratively tied together.

There’s also a Gear of War panel on the series’ history, with Cliff Bleszinski, and another Halo 4 panel on the campaign and Infinity Multiplayer including Frank O’Connor.
