Grimlands MMO: Combines RPG & FPS Elements

Gamigo announced a new MMO. Grimlands is a MMO that combines RPG and shooter elements. Well, this worked well in Borderlands, so why shouldn’t it work in Grimlands?

Grimlands MMO

The MMO community is expanding, and with expansion comes new sensations and amazing updates for us fans. When it comes to MMOs we commonly think of things like World of Warcraft, Aion, EverQuest, Final Fantasy online, and other fantasy-based RPGs, but there’s a new era that is booming into the market, shooters and post-apocalyptic MMOs, Grimland is just that.

Grimlands is an action-packed MMO that takes place in a modern post-apocalyptic world twenty years after what was apparently an extremely devastating earthquake that swept through the land and torn it to pieces, laying waste to everything in its path.

Grimdlands – FPS MMO

Now humanity as we know it is in a fight for survival, after the chaos all we let loose. Few cities survived the horrible earthquake but were soon destroyed in power struggles and waging wars against who-gets-what, you will encounter many bandits, mutants and other scheming villains. The theme of this game seems to have almost a classical Fallout 1 and 2 feel to its scenery with a hint of western. In this world where the main goal is survival you can bet that an MMO like this would include a wide-range of Player-versus-player features and, unlike in the new fallout games, you are able to get modifiable vehicles! And it’s about time, too! The enemies in this game are not just your regularly unintelligible coded enemies but they are advertised to be intelligent enemies that live within a highly dynamic gameworld.

Grimlands also includes something that few MMO’s are intigrating into their system and is something you see most commonly in popular, pay-to-play MMOs: a comprehensive crafting system. With a flexible skill system the beta for this game is scheduled to launch later in 2011.

When it comes down to it I have high hopes for Grimland, hoping it will prove once and for all that FPS MMOs can be amazing, after my disappointment in paying for Fallen Earth I sit at the edge of my seat with bated breathe for more information on this Post-apocalyptic MMORPG, little other information has currently been released but you can check for updates on their official website or watch for new videos on youtube.
