For many gamers the ultimate game of choice is Minecraft, but if you’re lagging it’s simply horrible. Here’s how to fix your Minecraft lag

Make Minecraft run faster

Minecraft requires a good connection in order to keep up with the other players and to stay online properly. There is nothing worse than being in the middle of a great game of Minecraft to only realize that things are not progressing as they should due to lag in the game.

Check Video Settings

There could be several reasons to why your game is lagging during your Minecraft game. If your computer tends to only lag during the game play one of the most common problems is the video settings. If it continues to freeze up especially when the graphics changes you will simply need to go to options inside the Minecraft game choose video settings, change the graphics option to fast and reboot your computer. If it continues to lag then change the setting from fast to high priority. In order to do this in windows you will need to open your task manager by hitting the Ctrl+Alt+Delete buttons all at once. Click on the open processes tab and look for the Javaw.exe. Next you will need to right click on it and hover about it to set it on high.

Close Background Appps

Another thing that you may not realize is that the more programs that are running on your computer during your gameplay it will cause your game to lag. If you are planning on spending the day playing a game of Minecraft then make sure to shut down any programs that are not needed. This includes any browser pages, games, messengers, emails screens or any other programs that may take up space or ram on your computer and slow it down. It also never hurts to reboot your computer at least once a day especially if you have noticed any lag. These tips will help to improve the overall lag and allow you to get back to your Minecraft game.
