Free Download: Unload all Rainmeter skins with one click!

Hiding All Rainmeter Skins_llIf you’re new to Rainmeter, you may want to know how to unload all skins to start from scratch. We created a free theme unloader that you can download from our site now

Step 1: Adding ALL Rainmeter Skins To Single Group “MySkins”

1. Step Locate your Rainmeter.ini file – this is typically stored in C:\Users\sOliver\AppData\Roaming\Rainmeter (replace sOliver with your own username)

2. Step Open the file with a notepad editor like notepad++

3. Step Next, we are going to add Group=MySkins to every Skin as seen on the screenshot below – yes you can do this manually, but we are using a little neat trick to save us some time because I have over 37 skins installed on my PC

  • Open Notepad++
  • Hit CTRL+F and go to tab Replace, then select the Search Mode Extended and enter it exactly as seen on the screenshots below
  • If you need further instructions click here

Replace Skin Group Auto

Rainmeter.ini Should Now Have This

All skins should now have a line that says Group=MySkins

Add Group Myskins

Next, right-click on the Rainmeter tray icon and say “Refresh All”

Refresh Skins

Step 2: Download Our Theme Unloader

The following .rmskin is a Rainmeter skin – once loaded, you will have a blue bar that you can move around
Download Theme Unloader

Don’t like the blue bar? Simply change the picture in this file: C:\Users\(username)\Documents\Rainmeter\Skins\Theme Unloader\Resources – change the planetside_bar_hor.png to something else

Finally: Hover over bar to unload skins!

The last step is to simply hover over the bar and you will see that it will automatically hide all skins that share the same group. You can now add another group that will ALWAYS be visible, simply call it Group=VisibleSkins or something similar

Important: You can change the size of the hotspot by increasing the following values

This code can be found here:

  • C:\Users\yourusername\Documents\Rainmeter\Skins\Theme Unloader\
  • Horizontal Sidebar\planetside_bar_hor.ini
