Final Fantasy 14 Beta Client, Application + Start Date
As we previously reported, Square Enix is still looking for beta testers for Final Fantasy 14/XIV. The beta will begin next week, but you can still apply for beta testing one of the biggest MMO projects in history (only 10% will be playable in the beta!).

They are currently trying to push their last MMO, Final Fantasy 11. This year, Square Enix will release three new add-ons for FF11: Vision of Abyssea, Scars of Abyssea, and Heroes of Abyssea. Vision of Abyssea will be released this summer, but if you’re lucky you can participate in the beta of Final Fantasy XIV next week.
Final Fantasy 14 Beta Start Date
Closed Beta: March 11
Open Beta: September 1st, 2010
One of the things you should be aware of is that Final Fantasy 14 won’t be *fully* revealed to the public until it goes retail. Only 10% of the final game are playable in the beta. The reason behind it? They are trying to improve the game system and are solely focusing on that. That’s bad news for beta testers and good news for everyone else. They won’t know much more about the game than you, so they won’t have an unfair advantage.
