The Electronic Entertainment Expo is something that gamers, video game developers, and gaming companies look forward to every year. This expo, known as E3, showcases new video games, new gaming consoles and information about upcoming changes in the gaming industry. However, many gaming fans look forward to the information released by popular developers about upcoming video games the most. E3 2011 games this year include additions to popular franchises as well as standalone games.
Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed 3
One game that has been confirmed to be announced at E3 is Assassin’s Creed III by Ubisoft. As far as E3 2011 games go, this is one of the most highly anticipated. Gamers who are fans of the Assassin’s Creed series have been waiting for more information about this secretive game. Ubisoft has been very tight-lipped about it since development began, and people have been speculating about what time period it will take place in and where the storyline will be. E3 is offering gamers some hope that they can gain insight into the newest Assassin’s Creed game.
Bethesda’s the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
There haven’t been as many role-playing games recently, but Bethesda is out to change that. One of the E3 2011 games that we will take a closer look at this year is The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, an addition to The Elder Scrolls series. While this game already has a release date, gamers are looking forward to more information being released at E3. It is hoped that there will be actual gameplay that can be viewed. People are also hoping to see the new and improved graphics in the game, since it is using the acclaimed Creation engine.
Techland’s Dead Island
Dead Island is a new standalone game featuring every horror fan’s favorite: zombies. This E3 2011 game garnered a lot of attention when it’s highly praised yet somewhat controversial trailer was released. Fans are looking forwards to hearing an official release date from the developers, as this game has been delayed several times since 2008. When the game is announced at E3, it is likely that gamers will be shown gameplay for the first time since its announcement, and people will able to see the multi-layered damage system in place on the zombies.
THQ’s Devil’s Third
A hidden gem in the mass of E3 2011 games is Devil’s Third, a third-person shooter being developed by Valhalla Game Studios. Valhalla Game Studios is known for top developer Tomonobu Itagaki, who created the Dead or Alive fighting game series as well as the popular Ninja Gaiden series. Devil’s Third is his first game since leaving Tecmo, and it is also his first third person shooter. Not many details have been released about this game, so the announcement at E3 is going to include a lot of big news for this standalone game.
This is just a sampling of some of the E3 2011 games. Hundreds of games are going to be showcased at the Expo, and some of them won’t be announced until the day of their presentation! In order to keep on top of all the E3 games, stay updated on E3 news at their website while the event is going on.
