E3 2010 Preview: Call of Duty Black Ops
Call of Duty Black Ops is currently ranked #2 as our most-anticipated E3 2010 game, only outvoted by GTA V (rumored to be announced at the E3). Treyarch’s master chief Mark Lamia is revealing some details of Call of Duty Black Ops in an interview with http://gametrailers.com/
Interview with Mark Lamia
Mark Lamia wanted to take Call of Duty to a new place, something that hadn’t been done before. He also mentions that this is how they stumbled upon the secret warfare (Call of Duty Secret warfare is one of the registered domain names for upcoming Call of Duty games, check link for more infos) and the “black operations” during the cold war, which then resulted in the game idea for “Black Ops”. So, the basic idea is to create a game around wars that people didn’t know about and that obviously gives the developers a lot of room for creativity and new ideas.
It’s also pretty interesting to know that they were interviewing Major John Plaster, who really experienced the times of black operations, to come up with a possible scenario and to get ideas what to include in the game.
