If Dragon Age 3 wants to claim the throne of RPG’s, it needs some serious modifications.
Should Dragon Age 3 Be More Like Skyrim?
If Bioware wants to beat Skyrim, they not only need a new multiplayer that is currently rumored to be included in Dragon Age 3, no they should also make the world easy to explore and add a lot more customization features.
RPG’s work well when you can either create the ultimate character and you can follow that progress or there’s simply a huge amount of content to explore, including tombs and dungeons. Skyrim has it all and is a great success.
Dragon Age’s character customization is not one of the key strengths and the fights are rather dull and static. The key strength of Dragon Age is probably the story, but that’s not nearly good enough for a Triple A game.
A good RPG should also have a more advanced crafting system. Recipes for rare items should be hard to get – if all items are easy to get and you don’t need to go through some trouble to get them, they’re probably not worth my time.
In a recent interview with Wired.com, BioWare CEO Dr. Ray Muzyka said that they’re taking a good look at Skyrim and the key strengths of the game to include the best of it in their own (Dragon Age 3) game.
