Ratio Interactive Agency Hosting Windows 8 Design Contest
Ratio Interactive is an award winning design agency that has been churning great design for quite some time. Now they have announced an event that is designed to inspired designers to get to their drawing boards and create something appealing for Windows 8. This contest was launched this week once the Windows 8 Virtual UX training event was over.
The competition will be open for registrations till June 30th and the final designs will be due one month later on July 30th. The best of the submissions will be showcased in a downtown Seattle Art Gallery early in August. The total prize money is $10,000 and it will be shared by the top three designs that get submitted.
Given the way the competition is designed, this is less about the money for the designers and more about getting the exposure and spreading the word. It is also a good platform for young talents. The designs should focus on user experience, visual design and the utilization of the features that are unique to Windows 8 such as Live Tiles, Semantic Zoom and also Contracts.
Ratio Interactive spoke about the contest, saying the Design and User Experience count the most and is what they are looking for. The agency has already designed various things for Windows 8 and they are excited to be working on the platform and creating more apps in the future, said Chief Strategy Office at Ratio Interactive, Ruff Whitman. He said the company was expecting to see some really cool and inspiring designs.
