Dead Rising 3 has been confirmed as an exclusive to Xbox One and will feature SmartGlass support along with a seemingly more realistic atmosphere judging from the trailer showcased at E3.
SmartGlass support will bring action to second screen in Dead Rising 3
Dead Rising 3 is one of the first games to have confirmed SmartGlass support and the “second screen experience” will allow players to access special abilities such as air strikes and drone support. It will allow gamers to “locate specific types of items and abandoned storefronts” which should benefit co-op play.
SmartGlass is nothing new to the Xbox One but Microsoft will greatly enhance the functionality for the new system which will allow the app to integrate into gameplay.
More weapons, more zombies and less loading promised for Dead Rising 3
The game itself is promising hundreds of weapons, thousands of zombies and all taking placing in an open world sandbox city which gets rid of load times.
The hype surrounding Dead Rising 3 shows how far the series has come. It has never been a marquee game for Xbox compared to Halo and the like but as a popular exclusive it has stood the test of time. That it is now taking centre stage at E3 shows the faith Microsoft are putting into the latest release in the series.
Dead Rising 3 is set for November 2013 release
The story itself will be based ten years after the events in Dead Rising 2 and feature a new hero in the shape of Nick Ramos. Players will be helping Nick survive onslaught after onslaught of zombies in the fictional town of Los Perdidos which as stated will be sandbox based with no loading times.
Microsoft will be hoping that Dead Rising 3 will be a system seller and the game is set to be released in November 2013 alongside the Xbox Ones launch.
