Release Date: Q3
Dead Island will be released in Q3 2011 and will be available for Microsoft Windows, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. We expect that Dead Island will be released in July 2011.
Open World Horror Games
Dead Island is so unique that it has started a whole new genre of computer games. The exact name of the genre hasn’t been singled out yet but a couple of terms being used to describe the genre are, “open world horror action adventure” and “Zombie slasher action Role Playing Game (RPG).” Basically, you kill zombies and try to survive. Dead Island has an expected release date in the third quarter of 2011. But there is much anticipation. Dead Island publisher Deep Silver as been leaking information about the game and allowing a select few to review the actual game. Of course viewing time was limited. The company has been releasing game screenshots to the public and the accompanying trailer has gone viral.
Dead Island Story
The game takes place on a tropical island where a family is on vacation. Quickly things begin to seem wrong and soon the island beaches are crawling with zombies. The game is presented in a first person manner. You can have a maximum of four characters to play along with you in co-operative play. There are factors that you can adjust that affect the RGP factor in the game. You need to keep your stamina level up as you confront the zombies. Watch out for the super zombies. One of the cool features in the game is a workbench where you can build, modify and repair crude weapons to fight the zombies. With the right modifications a crude weapon can turn into a powerful bludgeon. The story goes that you are staying in a resort located in Banoi. After a wonderful night of partying you find out the next day that the zombies are attacking! You go outside and pick up a lead pipe, you can figure out the rest from here. You have four “Heroes” you can play with and luckily all of your heroes are immune to the zombie virus. You work with your heroes to protect yourselves and kill zombies, picking up items along the way that serve as weapons. The graphics are smooth and quite sharp. There will be a lot of blood flying around.
