As mentioned in the title, Parallax Occlusion Mapping will turn your 2D textures into 3D textures. You’re probably familiar with displacement and bump mapping, right? Parallax occlusion mapping is basically an enhanced bump mapping that will look even more realistic. Crysis does have built-in support for Parallax occlusion mapping already, you can turn it on by adding +r_usepom 1 to your command line.
