Counter-Strike Global Offensive With Cross-Platform Support? PC vs. XBOX360

Gabe Newell unveils that Valve’s big goal is to make cross-platform Counter-Strike competitions a possibility, which means that we soon might be able to compete with XBO360 Counter-Strike Global Offensive players on a PC or PS3.

Newell also underlined that Counter-Strike Global Offensive will NOT be a Counter-Strike 2. The goal of CS:GO will be to add new features to the game and give console players the chance to join the Counter-Strike community.

One of the most important new CS:GO features will be a team-based ranking system. New maps are also coming, but many of the old classic maps have already been confirmed.

There are many technical hurdles that Valve has to overcome in order to make Counter-Strike: Global Offensive a truly cross-platform game, but it seems they have made good progress or Newell wouldn’t even mention it. We’ll see how that works out, but hopefully they can pull it off.
