Consumer Tech: Kinect 2 with lip reading and emotional detection

Technology that analyze your emotions has been around in Casinos for a while and lip reading prototypes have been around since 2009, but now it’s finally ready for consumers. Kinect 2 might include all those features. Yep – incredible..

Voice Analysis, Dynamic Gameplay

According to, the Kinect 2 will also be able to recognize in what direction you are looking. Also voice analysis is rumored to be included. Something that can analyze the pitch and volume of my voice, read my lips, analyze my emotions .. sounds like technology is advancing quickly.

Other sources report that games might change dynamically to your current emotional status. If you’re stressed the gameplay will be a bit more relaxed. Of course, this will only work well in non-shooter games where players are not actively seeking action and adrenaline.

Kinect 2: Improved Sensor

The Kinect 2 will also come with an improved sensor that can give the hardware more information per second. The 30 FPS depth sensor will be drastically upgraded.

If everything turns out to be true this could make games a lot more intense. In the future, Microsoft could be the first to release a device that provides a close-to-real-life gaming experience where game avatars look and speak like us. A “Matrix” device is now closer than ever – if that is something to be encouraged or not is up to you.
