Monday was full of exciting and interesting news from Microsot and the Hour Of Code took off on Monday as well. Microsoft unveiled an all new way of teaching coding via Minecraft, and also made their Microsoft Lumia 550 available in Europe.
The Hour of Code is all about teaching youngsters and high-school age students all about computer coding and the excitement of technology. Microsoft had a number of initiatives on Monday, but making Minecraft part of it was the best part for many.
Hour of Code With Minecraft
Many people find the idea of trying to code on computers very challenging and something that might overwhelm them. Microsoft sees this as a fun way to teach users, and on the Hour Of Code site, unveiled an Hour of Code featuring Minecraft.
The Minecraft flavored version of this project, lets users use blocks of code to take Steve or Alex on an adventure through the Minecraft world. It’s free, and available in a number of languages, featuring tablet and browser usage. It’s also for ages 6-106.
Microsoft Lumia 550 Launch
Apart from the coding news, Microsoft also announced the unveiling of their newest Windows Phone, the Microsoft Lumia 550. It’s available starting today, and will work its way across the world and a n umber of regions starting at $150.
It features Windows 10, Microsoft apps, a 4.7″ HD display, and the complete Windows 10 Continuum experience. The display on the phone is out of this world, and it features 4G LTE connectivity to keep users connected whereever they are.
