Sledgehammer Games, the developer of the Call of Duty action adventure, revealed that Call of Duty 8 will be based on real stories.
So, much like Call of Duty: Black Ops, Call of Duty 8 will have some real background – it will be a more realistic scenario. If that will help the game to succeed has to be seen.
When will Call of Duty 8 be released?
Call of Duty 8 will be coming next year. The 8th installment will be either Sledgehammer’s or Infinity Ward’s game , which ever will be released first. You could argue that Infinity Ward hasn’t even announced their game, so Sledgehammer games shall be Call of Duty 8 and MW3 will be the 9th game.
Call of Duty 8 will not be your typical Call of Duty
Either way, Sledgehammer’s game will be not the typical Call of Duty game (it will be an entirely different genre!) and will therefore not compete with the other Call of Duty game that is currently in development. Supposedly, the game that Infinity Ward is currently developing is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. However, they could also be working on Call of Duty: Future Warfare, we still don’t know that yet for sure.
The Sledgehammer team was also partly responsible for Dead Space. If you liked the Dead Space sound environment, be prepared for something even better:
“Picking composers for the game. Fun stuff, think we found a great fit. Audio will be better than what we did on Dead Space.”
