Best Xbox 360 Games of 2013

We take a look at some of the best games that were released on the Xbox 360 in 2013.

Grand Theft Auto 5

Grand Theft Auto V 2013 Best

There can be no “best of” anything list that does not included Rockstars masterpiece Grand Theft Auto 5.

The latest GTA proved the series still had what it took to break new boundaries and deliver more content, gaming and humour than many of its competitors combined.

The graphics were incredible for a system that’s on its last legs and the setting was bigger, better and busier than in Grand Theft Auto IV. Some had a gripe with the story not being as captivating as others in Rockstars catalogue but when you add GTA Online into the mix – it looks like there will be plenty playing GTAV well into next year and beyond.

Bioshock Infinite

If there is any game that invites the gamer to actually think and consider their role in the narrative it is Bioshock. After an incredible debut entry, Bioshock 2 was not quite as well received. This all meant that Bioshock Infinite was a defining game in the series legacy.

With a fantastic story that we feel deserves a second playthrough to fully appreciate the game most certainly delivered. It was a critically acclaimed with reviewers proclaiming the game to be the pillar for sophisticated and creative games that other developers must now live up to.

There’s not much else to say about Bioshock Infinite other than its a must play title that if you have not picked it up you should certainly consider doing so.

Tomb Raider

The last nomination was a toss up between Tomb Raider and Assassins Creed 4 and we have gone with Tomb Raider for a few key reasons despites the quality of the latter.

Tomb Raider was the original adventure seeking, all conquering exploration game and it’s great to see the series return to form. The series was long overdue a reboot and the visuals, length and gameplay of this entry was beyond any of its predecessors and a lot of its competitors by a long distance.

The multiplayer did not quite live up to the single player but when the single player experience is this good who cares? Tomb Raider is definitely one of the best games released in 2013 and a welcomed return to the top tier of gaming for Lara Croft. The trailer is also one of the best we have seen this year!
