Battlefield 4 will be released only one week before Call of Duty: Ghosts but analysts do not see this having an impact of how the game sells.
Analyst predicts Battlefield to sell 14 million units
Battlefield 4, which will be Electronics Arts next instalment in their first-person shooter series, was announced at the end of last March. EA believe the game is going to be a “genre defining” shooter and it is set for release on current and next gen consoles.
Many predicted the game to go head to head with Activisions’ Call of Duty: Ghosts when both games come out later this year but analyst are now predicting the completion is not going to have detrimental effect on either.
Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia has weighed in on the debate and he believes the competition will be a good thing due to buzz generated and that the two games can “coexist successful”.
This is not least due to the fact that Battlefield is preferred by PC gamers and Call of Duty more popular among console owners. Bhatia believes this will segregate sales enough to avoid the two affecting each other negatively.
DICE expect Frostbite 3 engine to provide a more authentic and detailed world
Meanwhile have released a video explaining how Frostbite 3 will allow designers to create a “seamless reality” with game changing destructions now more detailed than ever before.
The Swedish studio have also been hard at work developing an area they believe will make multiplayer maps more exciting and enthralling than ever before.
They are calling it “leveloution” which will mean the level and maps landscape is constantly changing and developing as the destructiable environments are struck and damaged by all the carnage.
DICE also believe the new Frostbite engine will mean that the storyline itself will be more immersive than ever and character features right down to the eyes are going to make them more believable than before.
Battlefield 4 to hit the shelves by the end of October
