Just two days after the Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 multiplayer trailer went live, and Associate Producer from Treyarch – the developers – has apparently leaked information on Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. From the campaign to multiplayer, there’s plenty to sink your teeth into.

Information on every aspect of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has been leaked, coinciding with the multiplayer reveal trailer

We know what to expect with Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. It’s going to return with perks and killstreaks, with tweaks around the edges to freshen up the formula. And that formula seems to be exactly the approach Treyarch is taking with Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, according to information reportedly leaked by an associate producer at Treyarch.

The game revolves around Frank Woods, a co-protagonist in Black Ops, talking about missions which are flashbacks while also explaining the origin of Raul Menendez, the antagonist. Treyarch said the game will have flashbacks to the 1960s, the setting of the first Black Ops, but the majority of the campaign takes place in 2025. The leak also says choice can influence the course of the game.

Locations for the campaign are in full at the source link, but there is variety: players will move from Afghanistan to Los Angeles. A mission called U.S. Barack Obama also features – it’s unknown whether the President actually appears – assuming the leak is not bogus.

Basically What You’d Expect

Multiplayer is of course what everyone is excited about. The feature that stood out to me is the ability to create custom classes — with or without perks. So if you don’t want any perks, you can continue to add features to weapons. Conversely, selecting six perks means you can only carry a knife. In theory I’ll be able to have more perks and my primary weapon, which would be unbalanced. Hopefully the weapons you can choose as more perks are chosen decreases in power and category (primary weapons not available, for example).

Killstreaks are what you’d expect. There’s the UVA drone, Care Package, and Sentry Turret, while there’s a new Microwave Drone which emits microwaves – killing players over time – and the remote-controlled Lodestar mini-plane that explodes on impact.

We’ll cover perks tomorrow.
