Allods is another MMO produced by Gpotato, a company who is renown for their many MMOs and various free-to-play games and Allods is no exception. Their Beta testing lasted for an entire year, and will end soon after the release of patch 2.0.02. This is one of the biggest updates that will add loads of new content to the already large database of Allods world. This world containts two factions, six races, and eight archetypes, and even twenty-eight classes. Even more jam packed content with hundreds of skills and so far over two thousand quests in counting.
Allods has two different factions and races and classes all fall under those factions, first off being The League or the goodly faction, and The Empire being the darkery, evil faction.
Allods races include a few similar races we can all relate too such as Elves and Orcs, but they have their own twists on races such as Kanians which is pretty much a variation of humans, and The Gibberlings; a race that is tiny, cute, furry, and said to be mischievous in nature and are said to be known to take refuge in the sea and are quite fond of Astral ships. Te Xadaganians are the darker version of humans, or a tribe of nomads and are on the same faction as orcs and the Arisen. The Arisen are fragments of a once great human empire but now are running around in shambles, literally! The Arisen are a playable undead race.
The classes branch off into a large variety of options but the the eight basic classes are Warrior, Paladin, Scout, Healer, Warden, Mage, Summoner, and Psionicist and each of those branch off according to class and faction you are apart of.
Professions are different from classes, these are a set of skills that each play can learn to create and collect powerful items that will be able to aid each player in their journey. Professions, unlike class, can be learned by any race or class and regardless of faction. Professions are split into two categories, Crafting and Gathering. Crafting includes Alchemists, Blacksmiths, Leatherworkers, and Tailors. Gatherers are Disassemblers who break down armor into clothe and other materials, Herbalism, and Mining.
Guilds are vital in almost any MMO and that holds true for Allods, bringing players together to complete complicate quests, raids, and instances. They also are required for teamwork necessary to crew an Astral ship, and each member is assigned a rank. By building up your guild you can get rewards, build up faction by using a Crystal of Unity, and many other things you don’t want to miss out on for the in-game experiences. PvP and other general MMO options are available in Allods along with many other features, and there is no harm trying it as its free to play.
