BluePoison is a nice tool developed by “Windows 8 Italy” (Italian blog), which allows you to customize your Metro app screen. It adds 10 new Windows 8 themes that give the Metro screen a completely new look.

Use BluePoison To Unlock Features, Themes And Customize The Start Screen On Windows 8

The Windows 8 Start screen has become one of the most debated features of Windows 8. Many users have demanded options for better customization. The team at Microsoft has already said that the OS is far from finished and more customization options will be available in the beta and of course in the final version.

Thankfully, there’s now a tool available that will allow you to customize your Start Screen to the way you want it to behave. The tool called BluePoison can be downloaded from Windows 8 Italy — a blog that is dedicated to news about Windows 8. Not only does it allow you to fully customize Windows 8, it also allows you to unlock certain features inside the Windows 8 Developer Preview. And the best part is that this app is available as a free download.

Important: You need elevated rights to install BluePoison and any Metro themes

Once you have downloaded BluPoison, you will need elevated rights to install it. Once installed, it will allow you to apply one of the ten available Windows 8 Metro themes to your system. In addition to that, it will show hidden features within Windows 8 that can be unlocked.

For these hidden features, you can either choose to unlock one by one or you can choose to enable them all at one go. You can also turn off all of these hidden features in one go. For example you can activate and deactivate the hidden Application Folder, the Aero Snap feature and the Immersive Start Menu.

The included themes can be changed in seconds but they cannot be customized. Under the ‘downloads’ option, there are links for directly downloading the 32bit and 64bit editions of the Windows 8 Developer Build. It will also give you the link to Office 15. Office 15 is not an official release by Microsoft and you should try it at your own risk.

Here’s the page that contains the download link. The website is in Italian.
