Windows 7 SP1 Leak

When Does Windows 7 Service Pack 1 come out? The release date of Windows 7 SP1 is getting closer. Scheduled for September 2010, Windows 7 Service Pack 1 will not dramatically change Windows 7 and is only considered a minor update that might include support for USB3.0, the new WAT and a few fixes here and there.

According to the site GeekSmack, the leaked Windows 7 SP1 build has the number 6.1.7601.16537.amd64fre.win7.100327-0053 and was compiled on March 27th. Wzor already confirmed that Windows 7 Service Pack 1 will include Windows Activation Technologies that is going to block all the pirated Windows 7 copies, but it still hasn’t been confirmed if it will include USB 3.0 support.

It’s still some time until we can get our hands on the Windows 7 SP1 beta, that will be released in May-June this year. The screenshots of Windows 7 Service Pack 1 Build 7601 don’t reveal much yet , but we don’t expect any big news anyway. More exciting is the question when Windows 8 will come out! An ex-employee hinted at a possible release of Windows 8 in 2011.
