Windows 7 Mac Theme
A lot of people requested a Windows 7 Mac theme, so here it is! This Mac theme will modify your shell and make it look like a Mac. Additionally, you might want to get a Windows 7 Mac Dock and Windows 7 Mac features.

This Mac Theme for Windows 7 modifies the shell to make it look exactly like a Mac! You won’t find a lot differences, it’s a 1:1 copy of the original Mac OS X theme. Mac OS X (also known as Snow Leopard) looks really hot, you simply can’t deny that!
Important: You will need to download additional 3rd-party tools to make it look exactly like that. You will need a Mac dock for example, but it’s all explained in our attached tutorials. So, you will hopefully enjoy our Mac Windows 7 Theme!

Update 08/17/2010: Hassle-free installation
The download now includes a full Windows 7 theme installer (yes, that is correct you now get a free software for installing Windows 7 themes and a full Mac theme). It will be a lot easier to replace the system files with this tool and you can continue to use it to install other Windows 7 themes! This works for all themes!
As you can see this program will make Windows 7 look exactly like Mac OS X and move all the buttons to the left.

Am I the only one that can’t download this theme?
I’ve tried opening this page in Safari, Chrome and Internet Explorer, all to no avail. All the download button does is reload the page…
Tobei, I suppose you’re on a Mac, aren’t you? For some reason it’s only working on a PC. I’ll be looking into it.
Also disable Adblockers temporarily and enable Javascript that is required for the download. Firefox 3.6.6 and Windows 7 Pro works just fine here.

The Mac theme has been updated. It now includes a Windows 7 theme installer that should make installing the theme a lot easier for beginners. I know that some had problems installing it, because you have to replace shell32.dll, explorer.exe, explorerframe.dll and copy the .theme files.
Additionally, if you are still not able to install it, there’s a new Mac themepack file that can be installed with only a double-click. It will install Mac Icons, Wallpapers, Sounds and Cursors on your Windows 7 PC.
as i am reading what the folks are saying, its a must to have this theme and as I’m typing the download is busy, thanks. i am pretty sure i will love this
I downloaded the theme and it is really looking very nice. I want to ask whether am I able to install the theme on Windows XP version also?
The Mac theme is very cool
Jimmy, you can only install the Mac theme on Windows 7, this can be either Windows 7 32-bit or Windows 7 64-bit. I thought it would be obvious, because it say Windows 7 Mac Theme. Anyway, I will be looking into this and find a Windows XP Mac theme for you.
Also, I want to remind everyone that the Mac theme now includes a theme installer that allows you to install custom Windows 7 themes very easily (normally installing Windows 7 themes is a lot of trouble). Because I invested a lot of time into all of this (theme + installer = 100h+) I consider a short survey to get the Mac theme very fair.

Hi,
I am trying to understand very well the process to install WINDOWS 7 MAC THEME, before make any modification using this theme.
When I run the installer, it shows a screen asking me for some files. I think I will only select the files coming with the package. (?!) and the others (right side of the screen) for all files in 32 bit version of the same files, right?
I am not sure about the installation process showed in the package, it says something about patch windows 7, the installer is suppose to install everything itself (?!) or we need to patch windows too ??

Well I got the theme to work. But I have another question. How do I get that bar on the top like a mac does? Also, the dock that is on the bottom.
I want my PC to look exactly like a mac, or close to it.

@Henry I’ve written a very detailed step-by-step guide how to install this mac theme using the theme installer that is included. You will first have to patch Windows 7, then you can use the installer to install the theme.

Love the theme. If go ahead and install the MAC Theme, is there any easy way to revert back to the default Windows 7 Aero Theme?

Alan, you should keep a copy of the original system files and then you can easily revert back to the original Windows 7 shell theme if you are bored of the Mac theme. It’s all described in the attached PDF tutorial and is really easy if you use our theme installer.
Also, I am using this theme myself and it doesn’t slow down Windows 7. In fact, it’s pretty darn fast.

Hey sOliver, such an awesome theme!
I followed the tutorial to the t but I came across a huge snag.
I did everything for the x64 version using the theme manager.
A few things are not correct (which I can live with) except for
whenever I get an “Open” dialog box, it seems to be missing my directory and preview screen. Is there anything I can change or must do to fix this? I’m a little anxious to get this fixxed, thank you so much!

Is there any way to uninstall it?
Craig, yes it’s very easy to uninstall. All you have to do is to open the Personalization Control Panel and select a different theme other than the Mac theme, which will be listed under “Installed Themes” because it’s a 3rd-party theme.
Easy Uninstall: Right-click on your desktop, click on Personalize, change theme, done! Easy, huh?
Also the theme has been updated again, it’s now even easier to install. You don’t have to use the theme installer if you don’t want to, but you can use it to install other Windows 7 shell themes. Everyone can install this theme, no knowledge required.
The mac theme has been updated again! New things added: 2 ebooks that I wrote and a huge list of mac shell themes for Windows 7. Plus installation and deinstallation is now fool-proof.

And another update. This time two more themes for Google Chrome were added (tested on Windows 7 only but should work on Ubuntu and other OS’s too). If you have any suggestions for the next update, please post your ideas.

I have one question and I hope someone can help me…
Can I use this theme also on a german version of W7 Home Premium?
Because I’m living in Germany (but I am italian) and so my OS language is in german too…
Or is this theme only in english/for english W7?

W-up-py, yes the Mac theme can also be used on a german Windows 7 installation. In fact, the language doesn’t matter, because it doesn’t affect the language packs, it will modify the shell (the look) of Windows 7.
Also, I made the installation of the Mac theme very easy, everyone should be able to install it now, but please take 5 min to read the instructions.

i like this stuff
i have java enabled and i disabled ad-blockers but i still cannot download :/ i get to the website with ease get to the download section and it just reloads the page, i’ve inspected the element within Firefox, G-Chrome and Internet Explorer and still nothing, any help?
P.S. am running win7 ultimate on a PC.

Mitch, if you can’t download the Mac theme, I suggest to create a new user on Windows 7 temporarily and then try again. Might help
