Comments on: Windows 7 and Google Chrome

I think IE9 is better then chrome. I have been experiencing problems loading some sites with IE, those sites load properly..

Chrome (v5.0.375.126) worked fine at first on my new computer with Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit). However, after I installed the latest Windows security updates and altered my account settings to “normal” user instead of administrator Chrome didn’t work anymore. Chrome just kept loading without ever showing anything and after a while showed a “pages not responding” message. It didn’t matter which page I went to, even trying to browse my own hard disk in Chrome and the “about:memory” page in Chrome failed.

After trying some things (adjust firewall settings, reinstall chrome, the “–in-process-plugins” options some people suggested online, turned off the “Automatically detect LAN settings” in IE) I finally installed Chrome under a administrator account and it worked! Then I switched back to my own “normal user” account, removed and reinstalled Chrome but it failed again. Chrome under the administrator account still works though, but starting Chrome in my normal account (even with the “Start as administrator”) does not work!?

I guess there is some sort of rights issue with Chrome under Windows 7!?

I have not had any problems using chrome on win7. I tried a lot of browsers in my search for the best fast light browser and found chrome to be the best. I use it on windows 7 for all my browsing apart from OWA, which all non ms suffer from. Really, give chrome a try and most will stick with it.

Chrome works perfectly on Win7 if I am logged in as a local user.
When I log to my domain Chrome is invisible. Install it, it works fine, log off and on again and Chrome disappears. Any ideas

Chrome gave me a lot of problems for some reason on both 7 as well as Vista.It used to crash as soon as i tried to run it for some reason?Has it happened to anyone else by the way?
I reinstalled 7 twice before Chrome started working properly again.But yes the lack of addons does make Chrome a bit unattractive at times. If addons are added to Chrome it will use more memory as well.It’s only cos it’s so minimalistic that it doesn’t use much memory.

Chrome doesnt work on my Win7. It runs super slow, have tried all the recommendation to fix it and no luck! I love chrome but like I said it runs super slow and usually pages dont load up the first time.

GChrome has worked since day one across all versions of windows that I’ve used it on (xp, vista, 7, even 98). It seems much faster at loading web pages, and definitely starting up (~15-34 seconds Firefox, ~1-3 seconds GChrome). One thing I really like is that Google Chrome always seems to work. Even when it doesn’t work, it’s working! (I’m referring to the Chrome Task Manager) And Google Chrome is perfect for me since I never used the Mozilla plugins. The only real complaint I would have with it is that flash seems to be choppier and use higher cpu percentages than on IE/Firefox. Other than that, it seems to be the perfect web browser for me. I’m very impressed and can’t wait for the debut of Google Chrome OS!

I did have some issues with chrome on the first few RC editions of Windows 7
After it hit RTM though these issues have been cleaned up.
Not sure if it was Microsoft or Google who fixed it, but it has worked like a charm ever since.
As I’m not one for using plugins, I am perfectly happy with the minimalistic looks and snappy feel of Chrome, which is critical in these netbook times with small widescreen monitors.

The home page in Chrome is very nice, but I do think credit is due to other browsers as Chrome was certainly not the first to make it.

Opera and Safari both have similar home pages, which had more functionality than Chrome until recent updates.

Worked fine on windows 7 for me, and after doing dll tests with multiple browsers, all the major ones, google chrome turned out to be the fastest, also has the best download manager and the home page is just so good, its usability is off the chart and it looks so good, it needs more plugins like a foxit plugin but otherwise its easily the best browser for any os. however wrote this article is full of it.

Google Chrome works perfect on my Windows7. But have some trouble to drag the tabs, its always extract dragged tab to a new window. Anyone have this issues?
