What features do you want in Windows 8 .next?
So, with a release date for Windows 7 SP1 in sight, I decided that it’s time to bring our Windows 8 Wishlist Project to the next level. Microsoft promised that they will listen to customer feedback in their all-new Windows.next! If you have a great idea for a new feature, suggest it (see poll in sidebar). We’ll be sending the final list to Microsoft for consideration.

I compiled a list of some features that you would like to see in Windows 8 based on our current wishlist (click here to read them all) :
- Plug & Play Cloud Computing
- Theme Editor
- Improved Network Sharing
- Simplified Rights Management
- Built-in Password Manager
- File Converter (for all formats)
- Password-protection for files & folders
- Hardware Diagnostic Tool
- Stackable Taskbar Icons
- Shortcut Manager
- Windows Dialog Customizer
- Personal e-Mail Client
I did not add all features, because some of them are too complex to describe them with a few words, so please don’t be angry if your wish did not make it on our list.
There are many features that could be useful, especially when I think about the future. Cloud computing will become the new standard. 3D will play a more important role than ever and Solid State Disks will make everything a lot faster. So, when everything is connected, faster and in 3D, what could be a useful feature that Windows 8 should include?
This is your poll, so it’s your turn! This is your chance to help make Windows 8 (or as Microsoft currently refers to it “Windows.next”) better.
Where can I vote for new features?
You will find the poll in our sidebar on the right!

Hey mate…i just love windows 7 ultilmate…but what i would say is that if this windows could become a little more user friedly..it wud be really nice…bcoz i’ve got my parents that have sometimes great problems to deal with it…
Hey,
There is a e-mail client available for windows. But Microsoft let’s you choose what you want; because there are a hell of a lot of them! (Most of them better then windows mail anyway).
However, what i like to see is, on the other hand a more automatic install of windows (and apps), but on the other hand more options to choose from. I think a install would be better if i set-up everything in the very beginning of the install. Like what apps i might like, and my internet configuration.
Next to that, i’d like to have an image mounter embedded in Windows, just like MacOS.
Of course the OS needs to be simplified. Windows is slow, and lame. It is far to complicated to be understood by Microsoft themselves (according to the massive Update offers!)
I hope windows 8 will have this features from early builds of longhorn:-
1)Winfs file system (Best relational file system integrated in early longhorn builds. love it)
2) 3d file explorer. Please search “longhorn Concept” on youtube you will definitely love it . against it Mac os x sucks
3)App store like mac
4)0 booting time
5)Have to create suitable environments according to needs of applications & games so the user can extract full potential power of such app or game.
6)Vast devices support
7)Best back-up utility like MAC
8)3d animated icons.
9)Have a an engine to prevent & detects & removes viruses.
10)Full screen view option for applications
11)3d UI
