Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Tango Headset Brings The Sound Of Future Warfare To The Living Room

Turtle Beach Call Of Duty Black Ops 2 Gaming Headset

If you’re going to be playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 non-stop, you’re probably going to want to hear every sound possible to get advantage of opponents. The new Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, developed by Turtle Beach, caters to those needs.

Where To Buy The Tango Headset

Turtle Beach is getting Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 players equipped for fighting in the future, with its Black Ops 2-themed headset

Buying a headset that’s optimized for a particular game is difficult, namely because shooters – in particular – have different audio design, and even different settings in the case of Halo. Therefore, manufacturers releasing game-themed headsets is a great way to improve the experience — and Turtle Beach is releasing a headset for Black Ops 2.

Cheap Turtle Beach Call Of Duty Black Ops 2 Gaming Headset

The wireless Turtle Beach Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Tango handset is selling for a – take a deep breath, okay? – more-than-$300 price. Even Astro’s A50 headset, also wireless, is retailing for a cheaper price ($299). And this is a company renowned for being high-end, in terms of pricing.

Tango comes with 5.1 wireless audio (honestly, for the price, 7.1 seems like a prerequisite, and is in the A50 headset), dual-pairing Bluetooth, a rechargeable battery (with up to 10 hours of battery life), dual-band Wi-Fi, and even voice morphing. A blast from the original Xbox headset past, for sure.

Are There Better Alternatives For Cheaper Prices?

The headset comes in a black-and-orange design, and undeniably looks sexy, with a matching wireless charging station. Custom sounds from Black Ops 2 voice actors play when turning the headset on, for example, a feature Microsoft uses in its recent Limited Edition Xbox 360s. A Black Ops 2 logo on an earphone and the wireless charging station feature, along with the words Call of Duty across the headband.

To further justify the price, Treyarch – developers of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 – have built custom presets for Black Ops 2. Hopefully there is custom software to build presets, as users can do with the Astro A50 after the headset has released.

There’s no firm release date for the headsets, with vendors putting October and November as the release date. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 launches November 13.
