   First of all, thank you for your efforts to enlighten all of us windows 7 newbies. I have so far queried a number of sites to no avail and so I will ad my question to your location. My trial win7 does not show the desktop icons and most bothersome is that there is no task bar! In order to get them all back, I cntrl-alt-Del to bring up task manager and at file tool I run explorer.exe This is only good for the current boot as the next boot I have to go thru the whole process again!
   Do you have any ideas about my problem? Thanks for your attention.

   I’ve just downloaded the e-book and having scanned through it I’m looking forward to applying it’s recommendations. I’m hoping that will resolve the hair pulling frustrations I’ve been through over the past few weeks just trying to use Win 7 with it’s basic settings. Thank you very much for your public spirited publishing of what looks like a very useful document (which addresses problems that should have been dealt with by Microsoft, looking at the hundreds of frustrated people on the forums).
