Trailer: In-game or cut-scene?

A lot of people are arguing about the The Last Of Us Trailer – some speculate that everything in The Last Of Us is pre-rendered (similar to Uncharted 3 Drake’s Deception). Although, The Last Of Us trailer looked more like a traditional cut-scene, it is possible that everything was actual in-game footage using the so called clip-plane and blur method that blurs out things further away and can use the rendering power solely for the surrounding area.

But The Last Of Us will not only have top-notch graphics, it will greatly focus on story and character development. The fictional scenario isn’t even that unrealistic – a terrible diseases breaks out and decimates the world population to a few living individuals. So far humanity has been rather lucky and many gloabl diseases could be prevented, but unfortunately viruses can adopt and become immune to modern medicine. But enough of that scary stuff, here’s a fact sheet.
