Many games of NCSoft currently do not work on Windows 7, in particular the MMO Lineage 2.
I think they updated the GameGuard for Aion and possibly for Guild Wars, but not for L2 or Rappelz.

Rappelz is not a NCSoft game by the way, it’s more like a free copy of Lineage 2.

Here’s the solution:

1. Download the updated GameGuard from Aion here. GameGuard Windows 7 fix

2. Duplicate the l2.bin (inside the system folder) and rename it to l2.exe.

3. Next, replace the GameGuard files that are officially signed by NCSoft.

As previously reported, Windows 7 will have a feature called WARP 10 (Windows Advanced Rasterization Platform) that will allow you to boot your PC without a graphic card.

Developer Stardock (Galactic Civilizations II, WindowBlinds 6) is obviously very pleased with Windows 7.
Stardock only managed to sell so many “games” because they’re all running on almost every PC. WARP10 means that Stardock can make games that look a lot better without having to worry that it won’t run on every PC.  That’s why CEO Brad Wardell urged everyone to install Windows 7. Obviously, they will also sell a lot more games if their games look better. As of right now, they can’t require DirectX9/10 support, because many people still run XP.

Stardock has recently (4/14/2009) released their game “Demigod”. It’s a tactical strategy game that includes rpg elements:

You can download DemiGod and all other products of Stardock through their own digital publishing platform, which you can download for free here:

Stardock’s CEO hasn’t made any statement regarding WindowsBlinds yet. Windows 7 has a completely new GUI, so Windows Blinds does not support Windows 7.

I stumbled on a post at Gizmodo.com today. A month ago they released some pretty interesting benchmarks. They used NVidia’s beta drivers 181.xx.

Funny trivia – they named the image “todaysucks”. Unsurprisingly Windows 7 is doing a lot better than Vista, except in one test. There is such a great difference in that one 3D benchmark, because NVidia had released new drivers for Vista, but not for Windows 7 back then. By now, there are new drivers!

The latest Windows 7 Nvidia drivers are:

They are working like a charm on my PC and should be able to boost the benchmark results a little bit.  So your overall gaming performance should be a little bit better.
